  • Engineering and project management on marine-based contracts from research to implementation and operations management, with particular emphasis on instrumentation and data logging, communications and real-time control.
  • Projects include hydro-electric instrumentation in South Africa and Sri Lanka, deep ocean research in mid-Atlantic and Indonesia, oil & gas in the North Sea. Data gathering and analysis in the high Canadian Arctic, the Beaufort Sea, southern Chile, US alpine environments, Finland, winter Caspian Sea and other cold climates.
  • Over 35 years of business development, project management from concept to financing,  over a broad range of environments and industries, notably offshore oil and gas.

Experience
In Canada worked for Panarctic Oil in northern instrumentation, later with Dome Petroleum’s Beaufort Sea operations working on ice impacts, offshore island design, marine logistics, high Arctic ice features. Owner/engineer of Applied Microsystems, one of North America’s most dynamic marine instrumentation corporations, with world-wide sales of underwater scientific equipment. Adjunct professor in Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Victoria, Canada. Author of many research papers and trade articles.
