Molikpaq Drilling Structure, Beaufort Sea
|
We regularly provide research on sea-ice environments of frontier offshore zones. Each study is unique and uncovers previously little known aspects of ice behaviour in various corners of the world. We approach new questions on ice with reviews of historical information sources (including a substantial in-house archive), GIS analysis of data, and development of specialized software and databases.
Among our research and analysis projects are:
- Development of real time ice information delivery systems in the Caspian Sea.
- Studies of ice regimes relative to work boat access in various zones off Sakhalin Island, Russia.
- Analysis of archive satellite data to characterize ice dynamics in the Tatar Strait and Sea of Okhotsk.
- Scoping study on impacts of climatic change on the Beaufort Sea ice regime.
- Development of software packages to handle increasing numbers of public agency data sets.
- Analysis of multi-year ice floe occurrence in the Beaufort Sea based on analysis of synthetic aperture radar imagery.
- Review of weather and ice environments of the Pechora Sea, European Russia.
- Study of extreme ice features in the Beaufort Sea.
