Edgar Herrera Guzman,
PhD
Expertise
- Statistical-hydrometeorology of cold regions of
Canada.
- Regional and global numerical
atmospheric-oceanic models.
- Multi-scale numerical models and statistical
post-processor of simulators.
- Hydrological and land surface schemes.
- Tropical and Mid Latitudes Climatology.
Experience
Dr. Guzman has 10 years of experience with dynamical
and statistical models and scientific data analysis. He
has developed great expertise along the
atmospheric-land-hydrological process,
statistical/hydrological models, detection of trends in
hydrological data, as well as analysis of atmospheric
seasonal variability. After his PhD, he became a
Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Saskatchewan
and collaborated as a visiting Scientist at the
Meteorological Service of Canada Operations Prairie and
Northern region. He was working with state-of-the-art
physics-based atmospheric numerical models in order to
study atmosphere-land-hydrological process by coupling
climatological-land-surface-hydrological models and
using the statistical/dynamical downscaling technique in
Nordic basins. Dr. Guzman has extensive experience in
air quality studies. He possesses superior programming
languages skills (UNIX C-shell, Fortran, etc.) and has
extensive knowledge of scientific analysis software. He
has significant experience in measuring meteorological
and hydrological fields campaigns and editing electronic
bulletins of meteorology. Languages: English, French,
Spanish. With Canatec since February 2010.
